About Music In May

St Ives Music in May began in May 2003 and has now become an annual event with three concerts of chamber music given in St Ives Parish Church over the course of the late May Bank Holiday weekend.

2008 marks the 50th anniversary of the death of Ralph Vaughan Williams an in commemoration of this event, his Phantasy Quintet and the first of his string quartets will be played.   Another highlight of the series will be the opportunity to hear both of the intensely beautiful but all too rarely performed Brahms String Quintets.

The concerts will once again be given by the outstandingly gifted Sacconi Quartet who will again be joined by their equally talented friends, pianist Gary Matthewman, clarinettist Tom Watmough and Violist Tim Boulton.

Booking for the concerts will open towards the end of February and if you would like to be added to the mailing list, please send an email to andrew.moth@btinternet.com requesting information.
